This 'Microlot' is a coffee from an extremely small Costa Rican farm, where the diversity of climates and their impact on coffee production has led to a thriving coffee trade with a great reputation for quality.
Grown in the highlands of Sidama, Ethiopia, Rumudamo is an exceptional specialty coffee produced at elevations of over 2,000 metres above sea level. The combination of fertile volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures, and meticulous cultivation allows the cherries to mature slowly, developing extraordinary sweetness, complexity, and clarity.
Only the ripest cherries are hand-picked before undergoing an innovative anaerobic washed process. During fermentation, the cherries are sealed in oxygen-free tanks, allowing naturally occurring yeasts to enhance the coffee's vibrant fruit character while preserving the elegance and cleanliness of a washed profile. This careful processing creates a cup that is both expressive and beautifully refined.
In the cup, expect a beautifully balanced medium-bodied coffee with a smooth, wine-like finish. Sweet notes of ripe peach and raisins are complemented by rich chocolate undertones, while delicate winter spices add warmth and depth to the cup. The result is a comforting yet complex coffee with a refined sweetness and a lingering, elegant finish.
