Daniel is a well decorated member of the coffee scene, winning the World Cup Tasting Championship in 2019, the first time such an achievement has been won by an Irish representative. In his 18 years long career he accumulated experience behind the bar, consulting, teaching & mentoring before becoming the founder of Sumo Coffee Roasters. We look forward to participating in his cupping & triangulation sessions at the festival.

Luis, originally a Mechanical Engineer from Venezuela, discovered his passion for coffee after moving to Europe. Renowned for his latte art, he competed in the National Latte Art and Barista Championships. He served as head trainer at Dublin Barista School, judged two Irish Brewers Cups, and participated in three National Aeropress Championships. His expertise in coffee and cocktails promises an exciting and flavourful coffee cocktail masterclass.

Caroline
Rob has many years of experience in the world of coffee. His most recent venture saw him open a new roadside roasting & drive thru coffee bar located in Avoca, Wicklow. He has also added a mobile version for event catering through the refurbishment of a an Ex- Severn Trent Utility Defender, very cool! He will brew some of his own beans for us during the festival and he will chat to us about brewing, tasting and all things coffee.

Johanna graduated as a Power Vinyasa yoga teacher in Brooklyn, New York in 2019. She founded The Joga Club ‘where health and wellness goes clubbing’ – a community space where “friends and friends-to-be are invited to come and get physically stronger, move together and just let go and enjoy good music”. She currently hosts Power Yoga Partys in Clare, Limerick & Cork. She will lead us at 9am each day of the festival with a yoga cl ass in the park.

Tomasz is a native of Poland who has been in the coffee business since 2017. For the past 6 years, he has served as the head roaster at The Old Barracks. He is a green coffee buyer & has great experience visiting farms around the world like Las Lajas, Cafe Rivensa, Don Alexis, Cafe Beneficio & Hacienta La Minita where he meets these small farmers & learns how these beans are grown & how the coffee trade operates.

Paul
Miguel grew up on a small speciality coffee farm in Bolivia where he learned to produce fantastic Bolivian green coffee beans. He now studies Arts in UL and works for us part time at The Old Barracks where his expertise and experience is used to help us roast these beans to a high standard. During the festival he will show us how to roast these beans in a way to produce different flavour profiles.

Our roastery in Birdhill is a magnificent spot, overlooking lower Lough Derg and Mount Moylussa. Just off the M7 sits this 300 year old building, a unique and elegant venue with large gardens to provide us with the room to create such an exciting festival of coffee.
