Vina Bujanda Reserva 2018
Rioja Alta and Alavesa regions. The grapes, grown in clay soils, are harvested in early October. After a 12-day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for 24 months in a mix of American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels, followed by 18 months of bottle aging.
The wine has a deep purple hue with garnet highlights. Its elegant aroma reveals notes of cigar box, ripe blackberries, plums, and sloes. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and smooth, with a long, refined finish featuring complex flavors of plum, cacao, and mocha, indicating its excellent aging potential.
Viña Bujanda is a new project from the Martínez Bujanda family, who previously sold their grapes to other producers. By launching their own brand, they offer an exceptional Rioja at a competitive price, making it a favorite among Spanish wine enthusiasts.
This wine pairs beautifully with roast meats, game, and mature cheeses, making it a versatile choice for a variety of meals.
