This chardonnay is a full-bodied classic. The nose is buttery toast followed by a flavoursome palate of melon, peach and hazelnuts with a textured mouthfeel. The finish is exceptionally long and fresh, with no overpowering oak or weight. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged in oak (1/3 new oak).
“Mind your head” is what you hear when you walk into Sylvain and Nathalie’s tiny cellar — looking around, there are barrels stacked to the low ceilings dating back to the middle ages. One quickly realises that these are genuinely handmade wines made by real families.
